The South African gentleman clearly has an appetite for exclusive single malt whiskeys.

This is evidenced by the fact that Tὺsail, the first ever Private Edition whiskey Glenmorangie released in South Africa, has completely sold out.

Says Sean Olivier, Brand Manager for Glemorangie, “The decision to bring Tὺsail into the country was based on a keen sense that the market for exclusive whiskeys in South Africa is growing, but the popularity has completely exceeded our expectations.”

Tὺsail, the 6th release from Glenmorangie’s award-winning Private Edition, is the product of a carefully-selected parcel of Maris Otter barley, floor-malted by hand using traditional techniques, and non-chill-filtered.

A rich winter variety of barley first introduced in 1965, Maris Otter was bred specifically to meet the demand for a high quality brewing malt and recognised for its ability to impart rich, rustic malty flavours.

Glenmorangie is one of a select few who continue to uphold an ethos of sacrificing yield for quality by using only the finest ingredients. Due to this the result is a whisky celebrating the variety’s renowned taste profile.

Tὺsail has deep earthy tones with robust aromas of malty, biscuity tones and a backbone of nut toffee. This single malt has a rich, rustic profile of nut toffee, sweet barley malt, ginger, cinnamon, and dates in molasses complements on the taste palate, more familiar Glenmorangie notes of peaches, oranges and smoked pears.

Glenmorangie, founded in 1843, uses the tallest stills in Scotland and only the finest oak casks to create its award winning ‘unnecessarily well made’ whiskies.
