First released in 2008, Corryvreckan is now part of the core Ardbeg range. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and new French oak. It takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay. Nonchillfiltered and bottled at 57.1%
Tarry ropes, creosote and linseed oil along with waxy dark chocolate, warm blackcurrants and muscovado sugar. Heady, intense and powerful.
Deep, peppery and chewy, like a peppered steak soaked in pepper sauce. A tang of crispy seaweed, espresso coffee with rich melted dark fruits (blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries) and bitter almonds.
Long, deep and remaining powerful with chocolate coated cherries, coffee and hot pepper sauce.
