The 10yo is now available locally in SA for the first time ever, and in the very smart new bottle released in 2017. No information is given on casks, although it seems to rely more on American oak to provide for an altogether easier and gentler daily dram. Naturally coloured and bottled at 43%.
Highland Park 10 YO
Lightly fruity with a hint of vanilla, mixed citrus, fresh green apples and some salty sea air with a whisper of peat.
More of the same with citrus, creamy vanilla, a peppery spiciness and touch of smoke. Soft sherry notes and the HP aromatic heathery peat but more muted than the rest of the core range.
A medium finish with some spice and gentle peat.
