Our friend Bernard Gutman is behind this event at Bascule. Here are some details taken from his blog:
Greetings from the foot of Africa, where we are eagerly awaiting the World Whisky Day celebrations. The Bascule Whisky Bar at the Cape Grace Hotel together with Waterfront Whisky are hosting an evening of whisky, traditional South Africa cuisine, great live music and a party, Cape Town style. The event features the award winning Bain’s Cape Mountain Single Grain Whisky and Three Ships 10-year-old Single Malt Whisky and of course the Bascule’s 400 strong selection of fine whiskies, from all over the world, America to Japan and all whisky producing countries in-between.
Attending the event are a number of whisky lovers, including Hector McBeth, Marsh Middleton and Bernard Gutman, the hosts of Let’s Talk Whisky, the national radio show that took South Africa by storm two years ago, sharing their passion for the golden liquid.
Now, please allow me to give a bit more info. The event starts at six in the evening, summer in Cape Town last a long time, until April, and from the Bascule Whisky Bar, the view at Sunset is of the majestic Table Mountain, the yachts in the marina and the pink and orange sky. It is quite simply one of the best places in the world to enjoy a whisky…or two.
